|The purpose of this position is to assist in the administration of the Housing and Community Development Division. This position will provide general administrative support to the division and will provide conduct client in-take, triage and eligibility for the Housing Rehabilitation and Weatherization programs. |
|Minimum education and/or experience:|
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years responsible administrative clerical, to include data-entry, customer service, record management and calendaring work experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to perform basic mathematical computation to determine household income. Computer literacy and data entry skills, including use of the Internet. skill in utilizing various word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software programs. Customer service skills to handle both external and internal customer needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines through use of time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, demonstrates flexibility, and adjusts to changing priorities. Must be available to provide services at locations throughout Maricopa County. Must have excellent phone skills to gather information via the phone. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with vulnerable populations and community agencies.
Preferred education and/or experience:
Customer service experience with vulnerable populations including very-low income residents, seniors and/or the disabled.
Preferred training, certifications and/or other special requirements:
Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid AZ Driver's License at time of hire. Bi-lingual English/Spanish.
Position based in an office environment but will require travel to and from various private homes, county and agency locations.
|Essential Job Tasks:|
|Perform client in-take over the phone and in person. Schedule customer appointments for multiple programs. Perform data entry into division and fund source databases. Track applications for services. Successfully assist and inform customers about appropriate programs by being fully informed about all services offered through the Housing and Community Services Division. Generate written reports as required on status of applications, jobs, and funding. Serve as the backup person, to conduct eligibility interviews as needed. Provide information on eligibility requirements to applicants, service providers, and other individuals/agencies. Refer eligible customers to appropriate providers; refer ineligible individuals to alternate service providers as appropriate. Order office supplies and maintain inventory; operate standard office equipment daily. Maintain division's record retention policy and database of records. Maintain division shared calendars. Type and distribute minutes of public bodies staffed by the division. Perform general administrative functions including creating/formatting documents and handling incoming/outgoing correspondence. Perform clerical duties, such as record management, filing, and customer service duties.|
